(PRWEB) January 13, 2005 -- King of Shaves Rules! Latest official market share data released by IRI (Information Resources, Inc. demonstrates the power of delivering 'The World's Best Shave' with UK sales of King of Shaves shaving and skincare products in substantial growth mode.
Headline figures (shaving preparations including gels, oils, foams and soaps) show:
- Overall shaving preparations market declining in value from 62m to 60m.
- King of Shaves brand sales rising to 7m (11.6% share)
- Gillette brand sales rising just 900,000 to 35.2m (60% share)
- Nivea for Men brand sales rising just 100,000 to 4.4m (7.3% share).
All other shaving brands are in substantial sales decline, including:
- Drugstore & Supermarket Private Label (declining to 6.4m from 7.8m);
- Simple for Men (Accantia): Declining to 576,000 from 680,000)
- Noxzema (Procter & Gamble): (declining to 630,000 from 650,000)
- Wilkinson Sword|Schick (Energizer): declining to 700,000 from 1.1m
- Colgate Palmolive: declining to 2.2m from 2.5m
Saving Faces, As Well As Shaving Them!
In addition to King of Shaves' growth in shaving, it is also the number 2 men's facial skincare brand in the UK.
For the year ending 27th November 2004, the men's 'facial skincare' market was worth 26.2m up from 22.5m the previous year.
Nivea for Men's sales were up to 17.2m (65% value) followed by King of Shaves Skincare up to 2m (7.4%). King of Shaves ASC2 range nearly tripled its sales in a year. The number 3 brand is Simple, with sales of 1.4m (1.5m previously).
