With MD Coder, physicians practicing at one of the many facilities compromised of MultiCare Health System can user their PalmOne or Pocket PC handhelds to capture charges at the point of care and synchronize those charges via a wireless or wireline connection to the MD Coder Enterprise Server. Users of the system can use a Wi-Fi enabled device with internet connectivity to securely synchronize patient data and charges remotely from the point of care independent of facility.
MultiCare Health System currently is in the process of a major overhaul of its existing Hospital Information System, thoroughly evaluated the mobile marketplace. MultiCare Health System participated in several technology demonstrations of vendors. They compared critical aspects of the various vendors including product adoption in the marketplace, product maturity, future product roadmaps, references, interviews with existing vendor customers and physician attended demonstrations in choosing the right product for their charge capture needs.
ÂAfter a selection process including mobile vendor demonstrations, we felt that implementing MD Coder will improve charge capture amongst our various facilities. The built in work flow of MD Coder fits in with our processes and provides our physicians a simple, intuitive and effective process for capturing charges at the point of serviceÂ, said Leona Parker, Director Information Services Clinical Application Support. ÂMobile Design Technologies, Inc.Âs commitment to service excellence, great products and implementation times that take days not weeks or months were strong factors in our decision making, added Leona.
ÂThis is just another commitment of the confidence that physicians, administrators and IT departments have that MD Coder will help reduce loss charges, speed up claim submissions, increase work flow productivity across the organization and most importantly provide their users with a best of breed charge capture solution, stated Damon Spiegel, CEO of Mobile Design Technologies, Inc.
