EHN distributes more than 2,000,000 pounds of food per year- enough to provide 1,600,000 nutritionally dense meals annually to emergency food providers. The organization helps to feed thousands of Houstonians who would otherwise go hungry.
In its 20th year of operation, the organization continues to innovate and provide logistical and marketing support to reach the communitys hungry," states Boyar. Im excited to be part of EHN and the great work it does in our community."
As part of the firms core values and commitment to community, Boyar & Miller and its professionals offer both their time and professional expertise to numerous non-profit endeavors in the area. In addition to EHN, the firms professionals are involved in charitable efforts including the Lombardi Awards, a program which raises contributions benefiting the American Cancer Society; Camp For All Foundation, a camp for chronically ill and disabled children and adults; and SEARCH, an organization dedicated to assisting homeless people and their families.
About End Hunger Network
Founded nearly twenty years ago, End Hunger Network is a private nonprofit organization that operates two hunger-relief programs, Food Loop and Red Barrel. EHN programs remove the barriers-lack of transportation, marketing, and expertise-that prevent Houston from using available food resources. Food Loop recovers surplus perishable food from food-industry donors and Red Barrel places red barrels in grocery stores across the city for customers to fill with purchased and donated nonperishable foods. Through persistence and hard work, the amount of food EHN provides each year has steadily increased to more than 2 million pounds, with an annual economic value of over $2.5 million.
