Wilmette, IL (PRWEB) January 14, 2005
Bullying expert, Derek Randel, the author of The Shameful Epidemic - How to protect your child from school violence and bullying will be speaking Thursday January 20th at 9:30 a.m. This will be held at St. Annes in Barrington, Illinois.
Mr. Randel states two main reasons bullying continues is due to people of good intentions doing nothing and bullying always thrives where authority is weak. National Education Association estimates that 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students. These situations are a parents' nightmare. From the playground, lunchroom, hallway, school bus, traveling to and from school, in cyber space, children are being bullied. The schools are not solving this problem. Mr. Randel's program offers solutions and calls for actions. He will be talking about what a parent can do, why your child is a victim, why people bully others, how to handle cyber-bullying and so much more.
"This program calls on the adults in the child's life to stand up for what is right. Saving someone from being bullied and taking action against school violence is a stance we all must take." Gail Randel M.D.
