AddressShare is a free, online, global address book currently available in English and Japanese. Share your information with other members by entering their email addresses and searching for friends and colleagues. Any changes made will be immediately available to people you are sharing with. Import your existing address books from any application and quickly and easily connect and share information with other members or invite non members to join AddressShare. If you do not wish to share with someone, you can always manually maintain their information yourself and have all your addresses in one system.
AddressShare is not a social networking system. Only people who know your email address will be able to request to share information with you. They will only see your information if, and only if, you accept their request and agree to share. As your relationships change over time, delete a share or grant more access to other members.
AddressShare has no access to your computers file system and requires no software installation. Access your information from your home, office or on vacation using any computer or web enabled device. No more worries about losing all your contacts if your computer hard disk fails or you lose your mobile phone. All your information is stored on secure AddressShare servers and accessible anytime, anywhere.
AddressShare was founded in 2003 by Ian Purcell an ex-Fortune 500 CTO. The company is based in Tokyo and is privately held with investors in Japan and Hong Kong. The idea for AddressShare came from our own frustrations with maintaining contact information in different systems and very often finding the information was incorrect.
