Emmy-Nominated Gary Pozner Scores The French Revolution
Emmy-nominated composer, former Tom Tom Club member Gary Pozner, writes and produces original score for Partisan Pictures' new film, The French Revolution, premiering January 17, 2005 on the History Channel.
(PRWEB) January 16, 2005 -- Emmy-nominated composer Gary Pozner has created the original score for Partisan Pictures new film The French Revolution, premiering Thursday, January 17th on The History Channel. This orchestral score, said to be Pozners best work yet, is a rich confrere to Doug Shultzs direction in this historical look at one of the bloodiest revolts ever waged, when the power of the people changed the course of history." The two-hour film will explore such notable and controversial figures as Marie Antoinette, Robespierre, and King Louis XVI.
The French Revolution Original Soundtrack will be released by Whirled Music and will be available on Amazon.com and CDBaby.com, along with Gary Pozners two prior releases, the critically-acclaimed, Emmy-nominated Russia: Land of the Tsars Original Soundtrack and The Quest for King Arthur Original Soundtrack.
Other recent work by Gary Pozner includes original music for Overkill," on Court TVs new series The Investigators. Next up, Gary will score the independent feature film The Nanking Triptych, a love story set during 1937 Japanese invasion of China, and Granny D., an independent documentary film about 90-year-old Doris Haddocks 1999 cross-country march to rally support for meaningful campaign finance reform.
In addition to his work in film and television, Gary Pozner is a former member of the 1990s band Tom Tom Club (Boom Boom Chi Boom Boom). His score for Walden Medias production of Nautilus: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea marked his live theatre debut, with a successful run at Denvers Walden Family Playhouse and an Original Cast Recording Soundtrack released in 2004.
The soundtrack for Russia: Land of the Tsars garnered Pozner a 2004 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Music and Sound" (News and Documentary Emmy Awards).
