McCoy's Action Karate is holding a free self defense class for women and men, Saturday, January 22, 2005 at both their Spencer and Auburn, MA locations. The class is designed specifically to teach effective and easy to learn self defense taught in Krav Maga, an Israeli military self defense system that is now being taught to civilians. Recent violent attacks in our area have prompted Action Karate to offer this course to the community free once again.
(PRWEB) January 18, 2005 -- The last time we offered this seminar we had over 50 people from the local community attend, so this time we are holding it at both of our schools," says Paul McCoy, one of the two owners of McCoy's Action Karate. He and his wife Anne have owned the two training centers for 11 years and have found that one of the best ways to impact peoples lives in the area of personal safety is to educate them. Krav Maga and our school have spent many years developing the 1 and ½ hour class we teach, and those who attend have found it challenging, effective, easy to do, and fun," says Anne.
The class is designed for adult men and women but it has been adapted for teens as well. Teenagers may attend if they attend with a parent. Attendees should expect to learn how to react under stress, how to defend themselves through and in spite of distractions and how to change their mind set from victim to attacker during the assault. Though it is up to an individual when attacked whether or not to defend themselves, this class will take them closer to being empowered to have the choice rather than having to be the victim.
