An image consultant and a communications coach - it was certainly a different approach. Some said it was too different, too risky. But it was an idea that image consultant, Michelle Sterling, and communications coach, LeeAundra Temescu knew would strike a chord.
Growing increasingly frustrated with the battle of Âstyle versus Âsubstance in executive presence training, Michelle, the image consultant, and LeeAundra, the communications coach, decided to create a program that addressed both. As opposed to most seminars, books and coaching that concentrated exclusively on image consulting or conversely, only taught communication skills, they wanted to highlight the essential integration of style and substance in todayÂs successful executive. Their ÂExecutive Impact seminar, which debuted in September 2004, combined training in image consulting with essential communication skills. Working together in a novel Âtag-team approach, they imparted the essential skills to become the total package, a polished, professional and articulate executive who is on their way to the top.
It worked. The integrated approach was especially effective in helping the participants learn from national recognized experts in two different fields that executive presence is a combination of the right image and the right message. More important, they learned that executive impact is the understanding that what you wear and how and what you say are fundamentally dependant on each other and must be consistent with each other to be truly effective. Matt Bryant, an executive at a leading mortgage company in Southern California who traveled to San Francisco to attend the January 2005 seminar, was especially impressed with the dual approach. Temescu and Sterling were Âboth wonderful and equipped with so much insight. He added ÂIÂm definitely going to recommend this seminar to everybody.Â
Temescu is relieved at the seminarÂs success but not surprised. ÂMichelle and I just knew this was the right way to teach executive presence and impact. It isnÂt the easiest way  what with coordinating our schedules and all but the finished product truly validated our experiences and we couldnÂt be happier with the outcome.Â
In response to the success of this seminar, Sterling and Temescu have announced new dates for the Executive Impact Seminar, this time on the East Coast. Executives and executive wannabes can attend the seminar in New York City on April 21-22nd, 2005.
