1st Choice Entertainment, Launches New Harpist Directory for the UK

The UK Harpist Directory provides access to this magical form of musical entertainment for the whole country. Organisers of weddings, corporate events and PR companies, now have a national resource for sourcing these hard to find musicians.

(PRWEB) January 22, 2005 -- 1st Choice Entertainment, one of the country's leaders in supplying corporate and wedding entertainment, have recently launched their new Harpist Directory for the UK. They can now proudly boast to be the largest booking agency for harpists in the country. Some may think that harpists are a rarity and that the job opportunities for them are even more rare, but nothing could be further from the truth. Their bookings for harpists far out weigh those for all other forms of entertainment added together.

They actually started promoting their first harpist Emma Ramsdale around six years ago and now have about fifty or so dotted around the country.

They strongly believe that their advertising campaigns have increased the publics awareness of this unusual instrument and this in turn has increased the quantity of work available for these unusually dedicated musicians. Many harpists start playing as children and through adolescence. Usually followed by a musical degree in one of the country's famous music academies. The most astounding fact of all, is the price of the harp it self. A reasonable standard harp is around 12,000 new. Where as, a high quality concert harp for the more experienced harpist, can be around 30,000 to 40,000.

From its initial launch this directory has proved popular with not only the general public and corporate event organisers, but with the harpists as well. The company are being approached by one or two new harpists a week, wanting to feature in the section covering their region. Even with the increasing number of harpists on the directory, they still don't have enough to meet demand, especially on some of the key summer dates. The owners of the directory are confident that this website will give another boost of growth in the harping fraternity.
