British Isles Golf a Short Drive from Atlantic City's Boardwalk

Chambersburg, PA (PRWEB) January 21, 2005 -- McCulloughs Emerald Golf Links presents an Irish-Scottish golf experience with its wide open fairways, tricky powerful winds, grass mounds and bunkers, natural waste areas and true undulating greens. Tee Time Golf Pass (www.teetimegolfpass.com)recently added this layout to it's growing roster of Atlantic City golf destinations.

McCullough's offers the challenge and allure of British Isles golf a short drive from Atlantic Citys legendary boardwalk, casinos and beaches.

Golf Digest likes what it saw. It named McCulloughs to its top 35 new public courses to open in 2003. It also received honorable mention in the magazines Top Ten You Can Play," an annual ranking of new public access courses.

Built on an old city landfill, McCulloughs elevated site lent itself well to acclaimed architect Stephen Kays design. The 6,600 yard, par 71 layout is a tribute to famed European courses like St. Andrews, Carnoustie, Prestwick, Gleneagles and Turnberry. Water comes into play on five holes and the unique site offers the regions only 100 foot elevation changes.

Technically, the layout sports renditions of more holes from Scotland (12) than Ireland (3), with a version of a famous hole from England, France, and a contest-winning imaginary hole with a triple fairway thats 435 yards long and 157 yards wide.

Its got it all...what a course. Using Golf Digests 10 point scale, I give McCulloughs Emerald Golf Links a rating of 8.0," wrote Golf Digests Ron Whitten.
