Brandee Danielle, in January, 2005, launched a new line of crib bedding to compete head-to-head against the new Wendy Bellissimo line of crib bedding recently released through Babies R Us. To be sold through baby specialty stores and selected internet retailers, these crib bedding sets, from Brandee Danielle’s new BD Baby line of crib bedding, will sell for $100 less than the Wendy Bellissimo collections.
Brandee Danielle, a manufacturer of premium crib bedding for over twenty years, has taken this bold step in an effort to help baby specialty stores compete against Babies R Us. Wendy Bellissimo merchandise was very popular with baby specialty stores and their customers just months ago, when she had a line of crib bedding sold through them. However, Wendy Bellissimo stopped selling her merchandise through these stores and signed an exclusive arrangement with Babies R Us. Baby specialty stores were disappointed to have lost this popular line of Wendy Bellisimo crib bedding. They were even more disturbed to learn about Babies R Us’ apparent entry into the premium crib bedding market, in direct competition with them, using the very Wendy Bellissimo name they had come to love.
Brandee Danielle’s new BD Baby line of crib bedding may be just the weapon baby specialty stores need to fight back at Babies R Us, who has increasingly encroached on their customer base, and Wendy Bellissimo, who pulled her line of bedding from them. As described by http://www.babysupermall.com in announcing this new line of bedding on their internet site, BD Baby crib bedding is Brandee Danielle’s effort to make “premium-grade fabrics and expert design and workmanship available to those seeking crib bedding sets for under $200. Everyone is cooperating in this effort to push BD Baby prices down to make Brandee Danielle quality available to everyone.”
Said Michael Wolfe, President of Brandee Danielle, “I saw what Babies R Us was proposing for $299 crib bedding sets. I thought that I could make a higher quality product that would cost consumers significantly less. With everyone’s help, we got the price down to $199. Moms will tell me whether they agree with my assessment of quality. I don’t think moms should pay an extra $100 because a movie star once used a designer’s bedding; moms deserve proven quality at a reasonable price.”
Brandee Danielle plans to release ten or more BD Baby crib bedding collections within the next month, many competing directly against the four Wendy Bellissimo sets recently announced by Babies R Us. They will be available at participating baby specialty stores, or online at http://www.babysupermall.com.
