Unique Art School Begins in Santa Fe, New Mexico - Former Chief of Russian Radio Begins Nations First Art Academy Devoted to Portraiture
The nation's first, year round art school/academy devoted to portraiture, the Andreeva Portrait Academy, opens in Santa Fe, NM on February 28, featuring week long, summer long workshops in drawing and painting figures and portraits
Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) January 27, 2005 -- Andreeva Portrait Academy (APA) opens its door on 28 February in Santa Fe, NM featuring renowned portrait artist/teacher Tony Ryder for its first class. Other master teachers will include David Leffel, Sherrie McGraw, Braldt Bralds, Dan Thompson, Ned Bittinger, Leonid Gervits and Kevin Gorges. The public is invited to special open houses, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Academy, on 28 January and 18 February.
The school will offer both short and longer classes year round, in figurative drawing and portrait painting from the best portrait teachers and painters. The APA artists will share their classical techniques for painting the portrait and figure.
The Academy, a private painting atelier, is associated with Andreeva Portrait Commissions and Gallery (www.luxuryportraits.com). The owner Tatiana Andreeva began her career as a journalist in St. Petersburg, Russia. At 37 she had become the youngest chief of public radio at the second largest media company in Russia.
She left radio to attend and graduate from Sotheby's London with a Master's degree in Art Business, completing her thesis in portraiture. She soon opened Andreeva Portrait Commissions and Gallery, representing artists who have painted presidents and royalty and with portraits in the worlds great museums.
Our teachers are trained in the best art school from St Petersburg to Florence to New York," says Ms. Andreeva. We have arranged a schedule of classes throughout the year to fit the needs of any student, whether an accomplished painter or beginner. Most classes are from one to two weeks in length, but for those wishing to develop mastery while studying the technique of one special mentor, APA will offer summer intensive workshops with Santa Fes own critically acclaimed painter and teacher, Tony Ryder."
