LiveTime Service Desk Applications Now Available for Novell NetWare 6.5

LiveTime Software ships NetWare 6.5-compatible version of its flagship J2EE Help Desk and Support Desk applications

LiveTime Software, developer of leading J2EE Service Desk applications, today announced LiveTime Support and LiveTime Help Desk have been Novell (Nasdaq: NOVL) “YES CERTIFIED” on Novell NetWare 6.5. NetWare users will now be able to deploy and run the highly scalable web-based applications previously only available to customers running Linux/Solaris/MacOS and Windows operating systems.

Novell’s continued support for open-source technologies such as Apache Web server, Jakarta Tomcat and MySQL database makes it an ideal platform for deploying LiveTime Support and LiveTime Help Desk. “Novell is clearly committed to supporting open standards based services, including Linux,” said Dr George Vossos, Chief Technology Officer of LiveTime Software. “We view the current release of NetWare 6.5 as a solid platform for deploying our scalable web-based applications, and a clear indication that Novell is truly listening to the needs of customers for a better performing and scalable J2EE infrastructure.”

The LiveTime solutions can be deployed and configured in a NetWare environment within a matter of hours, and incorporate service level management, knowledge base, client portal, management reporting, escalation and notification engine. LiveTime has been optimized in this release for optimum performance on both NetWare and Linux. “We at LiveTime fully support Novell’s efforts to provide customers with choice and an easy migration path from NetWare to Linux,” continued Vossos. “We expect our customers to continue to take advantage of refinements expected in the forthcoming Novell Open Enterprise Server release, due early in 2005.”
