Designed to take advantage of an agentÂs commission included in the price determined by the developer of a newly constructed home, the program takes a portion of that amount and returns it to the buyer. Since the commission is predetermined, the price of the home never changes, whether a buyer agent is used or not. Rebates occur at the close of escrow and can be used toward closing costs or to reduce the price of the home.
In addition to the rebate, following the sale of any new home purchased through the service, a $250 check is written to one of six local charities sponsored by the program. A letter also accompanies the donation to recognize the home buyers as the reason for the contribution.
ÂWith interest rates moving up and new home prices rising, this is a great way for home buyers to get extra money, and at the same time, help a charity in need, said Tipton.
Charities involved in the program include the MISS Foundation; GabrielÂs Angels; Thomas J. Pappas School; Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix Inc.; Habit for Humanity, Valley of the Sun; and Phoenix ChildrenÂs Hospital.
