Operation Confidence Opens New Office Thanks To ABC Extreme Makeover Home Edition
Non-profits new office will increase organizations ability to help people with disabilities develop employment skills and confidence
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 26, 2005 -- Operation Confidence, a non-profit organization that provides job preparation, training and employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities will host a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony commemorating the opening of its new office.
The ceremony will take place Thursday, January 27 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Commercial Capital Bank, located at 19300 Ventura Boulevard in Tarzana. Immediately preceding the ceremony reception guests will walk across the street to the office to formally cut the ribbon, view the facility, and meet the volunteer staff. Mayor James Hahn, and many other prominent members in the community co-chaired the event. Special acknowledgement will also be given to the ABC Extreme Makeover Home Edition" team and Matt Plaskoff of Plaskoff Construction for donating and remodeling the organizations new Ventura Boulevard office.
Established in 1981, Operation Confidence has assisted over 10,000 individuals with disabilities gain meaningful employment and independent living through its job fairs, recruitment efforts, job preparation workshops and special services.
Consuella Mackey, the programs Founder and Executive Director believes the new office will become a valuable tool in helping further the organizations efforts. The new office will enable us to help more people now than ever before," explained Mackey. Our immediate goal is to find opportunities for people in need, and we hope that this ribbon cutting brings our services and organization some desperately needed community attention. We have the individuals, they have the passion - we just need more avenues of support."
Mackey and Operation Confidence both received a tremendous boost of help when she was chosen for a complete home makeover from ABCs Extreme Makeover Home Edition" in October 2004. Her story was considered and ultimately chosen due to Mackeys efforts and devotion to Operation Confidence, previously operated out of a bedroom in her Granada Hills home.
