New resume writing service offers a more personal approach to resume writing than giant online resume factories. Resume Ink can either collect clients' information online or (discreetly) visit the jobseekers current office to gather information.

Jobseekers in the Seattle area can now meet face to face with a professional résumé writer who knows what hiring managers here – and beyond – are looking for. Résumé Ink writes and edits job search materials (résumés, cover letters, thank you letters and follow-up notes) for entry-level and mid-level employees who are looking for better jobs, new careers or promotions within their own companies.

Jennifer Lynham, President of Résumé Ink says, "The online resume factories might work for people who just need quick updates to their resumes. Resume Ink offers a more value-added service that for people who feel more comfortable discussing their career histories and futures with a live human being."

How it works:

Clients can submit their information and credit card payment online at RésuméInk.com. In addition to collecting basic data, Résumé Ink also asks jobseekers where they’d like to work and other information that helps determine the best format and tone. Résumé Ink calls the jobseeker at the time and number they specify, to either set up an appointment for a face-to-face discussion or conduct a phone meeting.

Turnaround time is two-three business days for a first draft and one day for revisions. To reduce the client’s “fuss” time, any questions about details such as dates or titles are written into the document. Every first draft is accompanied by a one-page Explanation Document outlining why the writer chose this format, why some information was omitted or included, etc.
