Top African American Businessman to Speak at Harvard Business School

Naylor Fitzhugh Conference roundtable discussion on Cooperative Economics at the Harvard Business School. The subject will focus on building wealth in the Black community.

The annual H. Naylor Fitzhugh Conference, hosted by the African-American Student Union at the Harvard Business School, provides a significant forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas critical to the success of African-American business and community leaders.

During the roundtable discussion, members of the African American Student Union at Harvard Business School and members of the civic and business community will hear from Mr. Roberts and others about their experiences on narrowing the wealth gap between African-Americans and all other ethnic communities.

Recent census data states that African-Americans have an estimated collective income of $656 billion annually, however less than 3% of those earnings stay within the African American community. The roundtable discussion will explore the opportunities and challenges with 'Buying Black', community banking including credit associations, pooled investing, and cooperative housing.
