CrossCheck, Inc., the nation’s largest privately held payment guarantee company, announced the signing of an agreement with Heartland Payment Systems, Inc., a provider of payment processing services. Under the terms of the agreement, CrossCheck will provide check authorization services, including electronic check conversion, to Heartland as part of Heartland’s suite of payment services for merchants. Heartland Payment Systems provides credit and debit card processing, gift and loyalty card programs and point-of-sale devices and supplies to merchants throughout the United States.

Using CrossCheck’s authorization services, Heartland will be able to offer merchants the convenience and safety of accepting low-numbered, out-of-town, even out-of-state checks with confidence. Heartland’s check conversion service offers check conversion at the point-of-sale and delivers funds directly to the merchant's account. Merchants benefit because they can consolidate bank accounts, streamline operations and reduce paper handling. This program’s unique features include the guarantee and conversion of business checks.

"CrossCheck’s ability to provide guarantee and conversion was important to the selection of them as our check services provider. They have over twenty years of experience and offer the technology and features we need for our merchants,” said Robert O. Carr, Heartland’s Chairman, CEO and President.

“We look forward to partnering with Heartland and adding our check services to their merchant processing offerings,” said CrossCheck’s President and Chief Executive Officer, J. David Siembieda. “Heartland has extensive experience in the industry and we are excited about the opportunities that this partnership can provide.”
