LightUpTheDarkness.org Launches Weve Got Your Back" Campaign

Bloggers support Senator Kerry's Kids Come First Act with "We've Got Your Back" Campaign.

W. Toluca Lake CA (PRWEB) January 30, 2005 -- John Kerry has reached out to his millions of online supporters in an innovative approach to advance progressive legislation. In a recent email, Kerry asked supporters to help him gather one million co-signers for the Kids Come First Act (S.114).

This important legislation addresses one of the most critical needs in America today, the wellness of our children. Startling statistics in Senator Kerrys email indicates:

•1 in 3 had no health insurance during 2002 and 2003
1/4 of children are not fully up to date on their basic immunizations.
•1/3 with chronic asthma do not get a prescription for medications they need.
•1/2 of uninsured children have not had a well child visit in the past year.
•1 in 6 has delayed or unmet medical needs.
•1 in 5 has trouble accessing health care.
•1 in 4 does not see a dentist annually.

Light up the Darkness has joined that effort with the Weve Got Your Back" Campaign. This new organization, formed by online Kerry bloggers, is calling on Democrats to join in the effort to pass this important legislation and to tell Senator Kerry Weve Got Your Back". They have created an Action Alert on Congress.org to make it easy for everyone to send a letter to their Senators urging them to Co-Sponsor the Kids Come First Act. In addition, progressive bloggers who post a thread of support will be recognized at LightUpTheDarkness.org in a special Weve Got Your Back" Blogroll.
