FAST (Fully Automated Sales Technology) employs an intuitive graphical interface that guides salespersons through the order process and enables them to capture order details on wirelessly web-enabled HP iPAQ PDAs as quickly as their customers speak, Murray said. Upon completion, orders are transmitted instantly via the Internet to the manufacturers or distributors for immediate processing and same-day shipping.

FAST consists of two software elements Â FAST Order Entry for the PDA, and the FAST Sales Management program installed at the customersÂ site. FAST Order Entry allows the salesperson to capture accurate orders with only a few strokes of the stylus through an intuitive GUI that is custom tailored to each customerÂs products and company. Upon completion of an order FAST transmits the details via the Internet to the Sales Manager module for immediate processing.
The Sales Management program performs a number of functions, including order processing, creating and sending purchase orders, faxes, emails, invoices, packing slips and even UPS labels to any computer or fax machine upon the occurrence of each order. FAST also contains a rules-based commission accounting engine that calculates commissions on every sale. Small manufacturers and distributors can take immediate advantage of FASTÂs built-in management reports and account maintenance features. Fully compatible with back office software, FAST requires no changes to existing company software programs.
