Kamala is the concept of Wispy Johnston and Caren Cooper, certified yoga instructors, entrepreneurs and Toronto residents. Trained at the world-renowned White Lotus Foundation by acclaimed instructors Ganga White and Tracey Rich, Wispy and Caren offer a wide variety of yoga classes and workshops. Our dream was to create an urban space that maintained the integrity of the ancient yoga teachings while incorporating the benefits of modern yoga through well-trained personable instructors and progressive teaching methods, say Johnston and Cooper.
Kamala Studio is described as rustic-chic boutique style. It is situated in a hundred year old building with high ceilings, natural light, exposed brick and wood, in a balance mix of natural and industrial elements. Kamala offers a full-class schedule that is customized to meet the needs of the neighborhood and allows time in between classes for teacher/student interaction. Kamala has created a serene and peaceful environment in the heart of downtown Toronto that includes two studios, open spaces for proper flow and limited class sizes.
