Five Ways to Beat Stress and Balance Your Life
Have you felt certain situations just seem out of control?
(PRWEB) January 29, 2005 -- The stress caused by events we cannot control is reflected on our own body in the form of anomalies or diseases. These manifestations can be in the form of rashes, stomach problems, heavy sweating, heart failure, stroke, even cancer.
The worst part here is that we get sick and the situation which caused us to be sick is still not solved.
Kariëlle Samstad, President and CEO of Lanval, Corp. (www.lanval.com), tells her students: The worst thing you can do to solve a stressful situation is to give in. If you allow the situation to control you, the possible solutions coming to your mind will not be the best and the results will not be the best expected either. This will cause you even more stress."
According to Samstad, there are five ways to take control over stressful situations and remain emotionally and physically healthy:
1) Detach yourself from the problem. The more emotionally involved you are, the less clear mind you will have to come up with solutions.
2) Breathe. Take deep breaths and allow new oxygen to purify your system. You will feel more calm and ready for action without the anxiety.
3) Take a walk. Allowing your eyes and your mind to be in a different environment facilitates a clear mind to find solutions for your problem.
4) Visualise a happy ending. Close your eyes and see what a happy ending for your problem would be. Once you do that, the path to achieve it will come to you very easily.
5) Trust yourself. Have enough belief and trust in yourself to take action. You will come up with solutions and your confidence to execute them will be high enough to take action right away.
The one in charge is you. The captain of the boat is you. Your life is your boat. Direct it wisely and make the best decisions while keeping yourself healthy.
Lanval Corporation (www.lanval.com) offers a variety of courses every season with one-to-one coaching included, where each student can ask questions about his particular situation. Courses are offered in English and Spanish. Groups are limited.
