Harvard Design Schools Office of Executive Education Marks Fifth Anniversary of its Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate
Harvard Design School's Office of Executive Education marks fifth anniversary of its innovative real estate program designed to provide the knowledge and vision needed by todays leaders in the real estate industry.
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) January 31, 2005 -- This summer, Harvard Design Schools Office of Executive Education will welcome its fifth class of real estate industry executives and entrepreneurs to its Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate (AMDP).
The AMDP is a high-level, long-term program designed for real estate leaders who are already very successful in their careers but who want to expand their horizons and contribute more effectively toward improving the quality of development in the cities, towns, and countries where they are active.
Since its launch in July 2001, the AMDP has graduated a diverse group of executives, entrepreneurs, and senior managers drawn from all parts of the real estate industry and from around the world. Graduates of the program, which covers a six-week period spread out over one year, earn a certificate and full Harvard Design School alumni/ae status. By catching real estate executives at a time when they are asking themselves, 'what comes next? AMDP participants tackle the tough questions about what their legacy will be," says Corlette Moore McCoy, Director of the Office of Executive Education at Harvard Design School.
The program provides a unique opportunity for participants to learn from eminent practitioners and scholars while building enduring relationships with key decision-makers from the global real estate community. The AMDPs curriculum combines general management education with real estate development, finance, strategy, and personal leadership topics. Participants are also required to complete two projects: A Team Project Competition in which participants work in small groups to solve a complex, real-world real estate problem and an Independent Project where participants choose from a) preparing a strategic plan that spells out a new business for their firm or expansion into a new product line or market; b) working with their local community to accomplish a regulatory change or perform some other service that contributes to the standard of development or quality of life in the community; or c) contributing to real estate education by creating a unique data set for future research or producing a case study that may be used for teaching purposes.
