SilverChicks Add African Beads to Site
The owners of SilverChicks.com have been working hard to bring you quality sterling silver and are pleased to announce that they now have a wide selection of African beads available.
(PRWEB) February 15, 2005 -- SilverChicks is a small web based bead and jewelry business run by two very busy stay-at-home mothers, Catie Dupont and Valissa McGuffee. The fluidity of the WWW allow them to work from their homes and from two geographical locations, as one lives in Texas and the other in Virginia. Their business developed from their desire to purchase quality sterling silver beads to fuel their jewelry designing hobby. Catie and Valissa were disappointed when they were unable to find beads and findings at reasonable prices and from one source, so they decided to create a bead and finding resource.
Founded in 2002, SilverChicks started as an eBay business. Initially, Catie and Valissa would buy what they wanted to use to create jewelry and sell the excess on eBay. Catie and Valissa found that their customers were just as eager to find quality beads and findings as they had been. Valissa and Catie were encouraged by their modest success on eBay and worked to develop their website. With the help of artist, Christoper Cart (www.cartgalleries.com), their website came to fruition.
Initially they sold sterling silver beads and findings, to include Bali sterling silver. They added Swarovski crystals and gemstone beads in 2003.
In 2004 the SilverChicks took a big step and added collectible antique African trade beads and ceramic Kazuri beads from Kenya. Catie had recently returned from living in Ethiopia for a year and brought back her passion for African trade beads.
The African trade beads that SilverChicks offer vary from antique Venetian trade beads to contemporary powder glass beads from Ghana. Their customers have responded enthusiastically to the addition, SilverChicks business tripled in 2004.
You can still find SilverChicks on eBay, Valissa and Catie are eBay addicts, but you will find more and exciting offerings on their website: www.silverchicks.com.
