Berkeley Park Records Announces the Winner of Its International Feature Film Screenplay Contest

Berkeley Park Records (BPR) is pleased to announce the winner of the BPR International Feature Film Screenplay Contest. The script titled Scratch This, written by Shannon Factor, story by Shannon Factor and Emma E. Hickox, has won first place.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 1, 2005 -- Berkeley Park Records (BPR) is pleased to announce the winner of the BPR International Feature Film Screenplay Contest. The script titled Scratch This, written by Shannon Factor, story by Shannon Factor and Emma E. Hickox, has won first place. This original story set in the world of hip-hop DJ scratch battling revolves around a young woman who aspires to being a top DJ in a male arena, while overcoming internal struggles.

Producer Diana Osberg has optioned the screenplay and is working with the writer to develop the script with the intention of producing it for feature release. Previously with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Ms. Osberg has developed scripts for an A-list actor/producer and has nearly ten years of experience in physical production. Currently she is developing several projects, including the feature Blind Angel which she is producing with Craig Anderson under his banner Craig Anderson Productions.

Shannon Factor is a writer, actor, producer, and California native. She has an MBA from Pepperdine University and is a graduate of Loyola Law School. In addition to SCRATCH THIS, Shannon has penned several scripts, including a female drag racing screenplay titled DRAGSTER for producers Mimi Rogers and The Firm; she has written and is producing a childrens animated film based on a classic and beloved English novel; and she is in development with a major network on a television series, THE ASSISTANT AND MR. JONES, which she has co-created and is co-producing. She also won first place for her script, MARRY FOR MONEY, from a prominent Los Angeles feminist organization, and she just wrapped LA CERCA, an independent short headed for the festival circuit, which she Executive Produced.

Emma E. Hickox has spent the last 15 years in the heart of Hollywood earning her stripes as an editor on such art house flicks as THIS WORLD THEN THE FIREWORKS and KLEPTOMANIA before moving into the mainstream with BLUE CRUSH, A WALK TO REMEMBER and Miramax's upcoming psychological drama, THE JACKET. She has now returned to her UK roots where she continues her cutting career, whilst branching out into script development, writing and producing.

The International Feature Film Screenplay Contest is designed to help screenwriters gain valuable industry exposure with agents, production companies, producers and studios and to give them an opportunity to have their screenplay developed for feature film production.

Berkeley Park Records is an independent record label that produces, distributes and develops new and emerging artists primarily in the Rock, Pop, R&B and Urban genres. BPR maintains a catalog of music for licensing to motion pictures, television and other media.
