What a gal wants most in the whole wide world is quite simple, according to Dr. Max Vogt, "The Couples Guru."
She wants a real partner in the everyday world. Someone who does those simple but very powerful acts of thoughtfulness and consideration that make all the difference in the world.
Now most of us guys really do love our gals very much. But when the testosterone gets burning, we just don't seem to even "remember" we have a wife or a girlfriend.
Believe me, we've all been there. I certainly have.--even as an Expert in Couples Counseling and Therapy! You get so focused on your work, money, your sports or other passions that you honestly kind of "let it slide" when it comes to being there for your wife or girlfriend.
You don't mean anything by it.
Then comes "the look" or "the talk." You know what I mean. "You aren't paying any attention to me. You don't love me anymore, do you?"
Uh-oh!
Ever actually and literally seen a deer in the headlights? I could shine a flashlight on your eyes right now and have to wear sunglasses from the glare coming off of them...with you just reading this!
You are blown away. It didn't even occur to you to think that you didn't love her. You do love her.
But there she is telling you don't. And even though you feel like arguing about it, you know deep down inside there is a nugget of truth in what she's saying. You have not been there for her like you know you should. Come on, be honest!
I'd like to challenge you guys to think of at least one extremely thoughtful thing you can do for your wife or girlfriend every single day. Do not go to bed without doing at least one extremely thoughtful thing.
Doesn't have to be a "biggie"...even bringing her a cup of coffee in bed in the morning or calling to ask how her day is going is great.
But I know it's hard to think of things when your testosterone gets running! However, in my book "Make Her Appreciate You," I listed out 128 great things you can do for her on a regular basis in order to get your hero status back again. If you work at it, you can make a great list also.
Get busy and give her the gift she wants most in the whole wide world: your thoughtfulness and attention!
