Rubberstamping Convention in St. Marys, Georgia, February 17 - 20, 2005.

Creativity flourishes in the small town of St Marys on the coast of Georgia. In February every year arts and crafts enthusiasts from all over the country gather for a rubberstamping convention. Last year 3,500 rubberstampers participated and this year an even larger crowd is expected.

St. Marys, GA (PRWEB) February 3, 2005 -- The Creative Palette is not your usual trade show. "Rather than fill an auditorium with people and the usual trade show noise -- we hold classes and have vendors set up booths inside local shops in the historic district. That's why there is no admission fee," states Carole McGuire, co-creator of The Creative Palette Convention.

For the third year instructors, artists, artisans, and vendors from across the country will gather in St. Marys, Georgia, the gateway to Cumberland Island. The rubberstamping convention is organized by Paula Amari and Carole DeGuire at Old Town Crafts. Last year 85 classes were scheduled and over 3,500 rubberstampers visited the convention. The convention just gets bigger and better every year, it's word of mouth . Stampers just love the creative atmosphere here in St. Marys," says Paula Amari, owner of Old Town Crafts, who is expecting an even bigger convention this year.

This years Creative Palette offers 91 different classes to stir up those creative juices. You can for example create altered books, make jewelry with precious metal clay, learn origami or Mizuhiki (oriental knots), stamp with watercolors or create art with polymer clay. Instructors include well known names such as Tim Holtz , Fred Mullett, Sandi Obertin, Suze Weinberg, Roberta Altshuler, Kathy Martin, Zana Clark, Lisa Ohmer, Chris Burnett , Deborah Anderson, many of which have appeared on HGTV's The Carol Duval show.
