(PRWEB) February 3, 2005 -- Geodex Minerals Ltd. (the 'Company) is pleased to announce that drilling is set to begin this week on the Sisson Brook copper-tungsten-molybdenum project in Central New Brunswick. Details of the option agreement, the location and history of this advanced property are contained in a News Release dated November 8th, 2004.
A diamond drilling contract has been signed between Maritime Diamond Drilling Limited and Champlain Resources Inc., the optionor of the property and operator for this stage of the work only. A minimum of 500 metres of NQ drilling (four to six holes) will be carried out on selected target areas derived from analysis of pre-existing geochemistry and geophysics. This work was done by Texasgulf/Kidd Creek Mines in the period 1978 to 1983 and is believed to be of good quality. The drilling will start immediately.
The first target is an untested part of the eastern I.P. anomaly located between the copper-tungsten resource known as Zone I to the north and the extensive scheelite and molybdenite-bearing quartz vein system known as Zone III to the south. The second target area is a one kilometre long, north- trending molybdenum-in-soils anomaly in the south-central part of the property, to the south-west of Zone III. This previously untested anomaly has high values in soil molydenum, coincident tungsten values and a more subtle I.P. anomaly. The third target area to be tested lies to the south of Zone III in a complex part of the eastern I.P. anomaly with associated molybdenum and tungsten soil values. All drill sites are road-accessible and waterlines are expected to be short.
Jack Marr, M.Sc., P. Geo. is the Qualified Person for this project as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The joint venture partners wish to acknowledge and thank the New Brunswick government for a grant under its Junior Mining Assistance Program towards the financing of this winter drill program.
