The Suzuki Studio for Young Musicians in Downtown Silver Spring to Offer Free Violin Piano Martial Arts Demonstrations

The Suzuki Studio for Young Musicians in Silver Spring, will offer free demonstrations of its Violin and Piano programs for children (ages 3-12) and their parents on Saturday February 5, 2005 from 12-2pm.

Suzuki Studio instructors, Joy Glover and Chris Kjorness will guide children and their parents through violin and piano mini classes. Reservations are required, as space is limited. Parents wishing to participate should contact 202-452-7485. The studio holds classes at First Baptist Church in downtown Silver Spring at 8415 Fenton Street (at the corner of Wayne and Fenton). At The Suzuki Studio for Young Musicians (SSYM), children as young as three learn to play an instrument in a positive and nurturing environment. The core of the SSYM program follows the philosophy of Talent Education developed by world renowned educator, Shinichi Suzuki. The Suzuki Studio for Young Musicians is a small organization dedicated to learning. The curriculum is unique in that young musicians in the Suzuki program are trained in martial arts, which significantly improves performing ability, memory and concentration, self-esteem, self-discipline and sensitivity.
