Goshen, IN (SportsFeatures/PRWEB ) February 2, 2005 -- FC Indiana of Womens Premier Soccer League (WPSL) announced the signing of two international players from Mexico. Fatima Leyva, a midfielder and Paty Perez, also a midfielder, are expected to strengthen the FC Indiana midfield for the 2005 season.

Leyva (24), a huge star in Mexico where crowds of 50,000 fans for womens international matches are not unusual, has had a storied international career, having participated at the CONCACAF (1998), Nike Cup (1998, 2000), World Cup (1999), Pan American Games (1999, 2003), Athens Olympics (2004) and Copa de Oro (2000) tournaments. She has 12 goals in 46 games for Mexico. When the Mexican national team failed to qualify for the 2003 women's World Cup, she was hired by Telemundo as a color commentator for their World Cup broadcasts.

Perez (26) has represented Mexico 41 times, scoring 9 goals. She participated at the CONCACAF (1998), Nike Cup (1998, 2000), World Cup (1999), Pan American Games (1999, 2003), Athens Olympics (2004) and Copa de Oro (2000) tournaments.

These two signings, along with the signing of Katie Barnes, demonstrate FC Indianas commitment to building a world class team," said Borkowski. Both players pose superb international pedigree and in addition to being great players, will be great ambassadors for our club and for the game of soccer."

Both Players are expected to arrive in Indiana on April 23, 2005.
