Cajun Chickcan of Texas & Academy Sports & Outdoors Settle Patent Infringement Case

Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 11, 2005 -- Cajun Chickcan of Texas, LLP and Academy, Ltd. are hereby pleased to announce that they have settled their dispute regarding U.S. Patent No. 6,557,460, entitled Apparatus for Roasting Fowl," (the '460 patent") and U.S. Patent No. 6,503,551, entitled Method for Roasting Fowl," (the '551 patent"). Academy is pleased to announce its agreement to purchase chicken cooking equipment from Cajun Chickcans designated distributor Barbour International for Academys sale in its stores.

The subject matter of the patents is a device that is selling like hotcakes nationwide under the trademark "ChickCAN" (bayou-classic.com). The device allows a beverage can to be firmly held in place inside a chicken to make "Beer Butt chicken." The gadget can be found throughout the country at stores such as Wal-Mart and Barbeques Galore. Many other retailers such as Krogers and HEB are getting into the act as well as the popularity of "Beer Butt chicken" is increasing.

One of the hippest, hottest and most unique-looking bbq recipe of the season, "Beer Butt chicken" is an incredibly easy-to-prepare recipe with a unique appearance that yields up chicken that is lip-smacking, incredibly moist, and virtually unmatched flavor and texture. "And nothing can top the looks on your guests faces when you open that grill and show them beautifully browned chickens perched upon beer cans" says Rick Browne, known as the "Godfather of Beer-Butt Chicken."

Beer Butt chicken has recieved rave reviews on the Today Show and Regis and Kelly Live!. And non-beer drinkers neednt dismay. The recipe works just as well with virtually any type of NON-DIET beverage, including sodas and juices. The trick is to make sure that the can, inserted in the posterior end of the bird, is at least half-filled with liquid, which seasons and moistens the chicken with flavorful steam.
