(PRWEB) February 10, 2005 -- The Poker Book Club at http://www.poker-bookclub.com is excited to bring a series of discussions about Harrington on Holdem to the poker community. Dan Harrington is known throughout the poker world as Action Dan". Ironically, this is due to his conservative, strategic, and thoughtful approach to tournament poker. Dan began his tournament game playing with chess in which he advanced to Master status. Looking for new games to conquer, Dan started playing backgammon and he quickly mastered this also. In 1981 Dan won the World Cup of Backgammon in Washington, D.C. Dan brought his championship play to No Limit Holdem Tournaments and won the World Series of Poker in 1987. He has played in 13 WSOP Championships and reached the final table 4 times. This includes 3rd in 2003 and 4th in 2004. This is an amazing feat considering the enormous amount of entrants in 2003 and 2004 WSOP Championships. Action" Dan expertly covers playing styles, starting hand requirements, reading the table, pot odds, hand analysis, and betting before and after the flop. The Poker Book Club will cover these topics thoroughly at http://www.poker-bookclub.com.
