Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 9, 2005 -- Tom Hanks will present the Lifetime Achievement honor to long-time friend and colleague Robert Zemeckis at the 3rd Annual VES Awards recognizing outstanding visual effects in nineteen (19) categories of film, television, commercials, music videos and games. The black-tie 3rd Annual VES Awards will be held at the legendary Hollywood Palladium on February 16. Other honorees include Don Shay, who will receive the Board of Directors Award for his contributions to the visual effects industry as Publisher of Cinefex Magazine. Robert Abel will receive the first ever Georges Melies Award for pioneering visual effects (posthumously).
Winners: Winners of the 3rd Annual VES Awards will be announced at the 3rd Annual VES Awards. NO advance notification will be provided to the media on embargo as votes are tabulated and kept under lock and key by an outside accounting firm.
