Most blogs last only a few months, but John KuraokaÂs Ad Blog has been running steadily with regular entries for two years. That makes it a rare survivor among blogs.
Kuraoka is a San Diego-based freelance advertising copywriter. His Ad Blog focuses on the creative side of advertising, although entries often extend into other areas of marketing and branding, with the occasional foray into social commentary.
ÂIÂm a writer; I canÂt not write, Kuraoka says. ÂIÂve been updating my familyÂs online journal at least once a week since 1998  and seven years ago, IÂd never even heard of blogging even though I was doing it.Â
So, as he enters his third year of professional blogging, is he afraid of running out of things to say?
ÂNot at all, he says. ÂAs long as thereÂs something going on in the world of advertising, thereÂs something to learn from and respond to.
ÂAnd, this is a great time to be in advertising. WeÂre seeing huge changes in consumer behavior, in advertiser behavior, in media. WeÂre in the midst of a revolution in advertising and marketing. ItÂs all exciting.Â
