Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) Teams Up with Santa Monica Doc for Africa Medical Mission Benefit

Two-time Emmy winner and star of Everyone Loves Raymond, Patricia Heaton and other Hollywood celebs team up with Santa Monica pediatrician Dr. Robert Hamilton to raise funds for medical mission traveling to Western Africa April 2005.

(PRWEB) February 12, 2005 -- Who: Renowned Santa Monica pediatrician Robert Hamilton, MD, and event hosts two-time Emmy winner Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond), Nancy Travis (BECKER), Mark Steines (ET) and many more.

What: Screening of the silent film classic, GIRL SHY starring Harold Lloyd; live orchestra with Robert Israel and one-of-a-kind auction items!

When: Saturday, February 12th 7:00 PM

Where: Newly restored, historic Aero Theater 1328 Montana Avenue, Santa Monica

Why: To benefit Africa 2005, a medical philanthropic effort headed by Santa Monica pediatrician Dr. Robert Hamilton. For the past 17 years, the Lighthouse Medical Mission Teams have traveled to some of the most severely war-torn regions of the world to administer free medical care and medications to those in dire need. The teams also work with local physicians in the region to foster and improve practices for basic medical care. Past years teams have traveled to Nicaragua, Guatemala, The Gambia and Sierra Leone.

Traveling again to Sierra Leone in March and April 2005, all members (doctors, nurses and others) of these medical teams donate their time and pay for their own transportation, travel, meals and lodging. Therefore, all funds raised are used to underwrite the costs of transporting and purchasing much needed medications, medical supplies and equipment.
