GolfGym Gets a Workout at PGA Merchandise Show: New Packaging and New Products Drive Retailer Demand
GolfGym, the industry leader in golf fitness products, scored a major victory at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show. Thanks to two hot new products, new packaging and a mention on the Golf Channel by Katherine Roberts, GolfGym made a strong showing at this year's show.
Santa Ana, CA (PRWEB) February 15, 2005 -- GolfGym, the industry leader in golf fitness products, scored a major victory at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida.
We tripled our business over 2004," said GolfGym president Ken Pierce. There were three contributing factors to our success. First, the location was tremendous. We were in the teaching and training aids pavilion so virtually every person that walked by was interested in our products-they were pre-qualified, if you will. Second, it helps when you have a golf training product thats been around for 18 years-its a proven quantity. And third, GolfGym was featured on The Golf Channel in a live segment hosted by fitness expert Katherine Roberts. A lot of people visited our booth based on her recommendation." GolfGyms PowerSwing Trainer is developing into a golf industry standard as its popularity continues to grow.
Our new packaging really connected with retail buyers and PGA Pros alike," said David Wogahn, GolfGyms marketing director. Retailers are always looking for that extra edge that moves their shoppers to pick-up a product and study it further. We invested in new photography to illustrate several golf-specific benefits of the GolfGym PowerSwing Trainer. In addition, we included the endorsement of Dr. David Wright, who recently received Golf Magazines Top 100 Instructor award to go along with his Golf Magazine Top 25 Golf School honor. We are focused on these small details because they make a big difference to golfers and retailers alike."
The company also received industry confirmation on their two newest products.
The reaction to the GolfGym Club 38 and Club 28 was tremendous," said Wogahn. Design-and ours is exceptional-is always a factor. We also had very positive feedback about our logic of distributing the added weight proportionately; similar to how a standard 7-iron is weighted. In fact, I had one pro say to me that he wondered when someone would finally do that. When I hear comments like that, I know were on the right track."
While the location was great and the publicity was definitely a plus, there were two other factors that couldnt be denied.
I think that one of the reasons why we had such a successful show is that golfers are realizing golf fitness works," offered Pierce. There is a growing demand for products that help golfers become and remain more golf fit. We feel we have three of the best golf fitness products in the industry, and will be adding more over the next 12 months."
