Cuba Escape From Paradise" is a human-interest story with a non-political perspective. Infante does address the dire economic situation of the general Cuban population, but he also reminisces about his childhood memories of Cuba and writes about his personal experiences and adventures while traveling throughout the island to discover his Cuban roots.
According to the publishers introduction: This sensitive, caring observation of Cuba and the Cuban people leaves the reader with a feeling for wanting to know more about the island that Infante calls Paradise." Here is an excerpt from the book, My people are so close to freedom; yet, it is so hard to obtain. Perhaps, the Cuban people are being punished for their expression of greed. In the olden days, some had little, while others had much more. At least, we owned ourselves and we made due with what little we had."
