Just Published - "A Mannequin for President"

Its the system, stupid! Not the man in the White House! The President is an irrelevance.

(PRWEB) February 15, 2005 -- Brilliantly observed, brutally audacious and bitingly satirical, A Mannequin for President by Jonathan Ledwidge is published by iUniverse. It is a view of America from the outside that is contemporary, contextual and incisive.

In a fictionalized series of conversations that are supported by a fascinating analysis of current and historical events, this extraordinarily lucid portrayal of the Machiavellian intrigues of American politics insists that the pundits, including Michael Moore, are wrong. Presidents are tools of the system, not malevolent leaders. The Presidency is a facade behind which the real power resides. Forget elections! Except for minor differences, changing the President is an irrelevance. American politics hasnt changed in more than a hundred years. The American Dream is merely one delusion that reinforces this charade. Another, even more disturbing form of deception, is the fiendish manipulation of religion and morality for electoral gain.

Amongst many other fascinating concepts and beliefs explored, A Mannequin for President names terrorism as the new communism, cynically nurtured and exploited on Americas crusade for the worlds oil and natural resources; Manifest Destiny II. Then there is Globalization; a range of policies specifically designed to fail those in need, in order to create 'The New Jerusalem.

A Mannequin for President examines political issues from a historical viewpoint. Consequently, the reader has the opportunity to gain a greater contextual understanding of American domestic politics and its relationship with and impact on the rest of the world, whilst still enjoying liberal elements of humor and satire.

A seminal theme throughout A Mannequin for President is that people must pass judgement on political leaders based on outcomes and results, and not by what is placed in front of them. The book reinforces this by consistently showing that current American policies are entirely consistent with the policies and actions of the past. As such, the true objectives of the current Administration can be readily determined, and this is something that the book readily facilitates.

A Mannequin for President is available from iUniverse, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other major online retailers.
