Doctors hope that this new technology will enable Breast Imaging Specialists to detect a greater number of early breast cancers," she said. Digital mammography is particularly beneficial for women with dense breast tissue for whom mammography poses a challenge, even to experienced breast imaging specialists."

Dr. Scheer, a Womens Imaging Specialist, has interpreted over 50,000 mammograms in the last decade. Prior to establishing her own practice, she served as the Womens Imaging Specialist at Northern Westchester Hospital and at Northeast Radiology.
