Dantel, Inc. Announces Deployment of WebMon® Edge for Service in Ethernet Metropolitan Area Networks
Installation results in network-wide use of product for facility and power monitoring in a Regional Bell Operating Company Ethernet Metropolitan Area Networks service
(PRWEB) February 14, 2005 -- Dantel, Inc. the leader in network surveillance and management systems, today announced the network wide deployment of their WebMon Edge for facility and power monitoring in a Regional Bell Operating Company (RBOC) Ethernet Metropolitan Area Networks (E-MAN) service.
The RBOC Customer is using the WebMon Edge to monitor and diagnose critical network affecting power failures thereby increasing reliability of service and visibility while minimizing down time. The Edge reports status in SNMP protocol directly to Netcool® management system at the Network Operations Center. The Edge is also fully remotely managed by the Netcool management system.

The Edge is a fully integrated, intelligent network-based surveillance, control and monitoring platform, with Telcordia NEBS Level 3 certification. The Edge supports SNMP versions v1, v2c and v3. Additional features include on-board capabilities for eight alarm inputs, two control outputs and humidity/temperature sensors.
The Edge offers environmental sensory expansion of 1-32 additional external I/Os via Modbus protocol, Dial-up capabilities are also available. A recent enhancement to the Edge is the addition of cellular-based TCP/IP connectivity which will enable users to expand the reliability, scope and reach of the surveillance and management solutions.
