Cub Scout Pack 282 Continues Spirit of Giving
Scouts deliver cookies and drinks to workers volunteering their time to remodel a home for a popular TV reality series.
Gilbert, AZ (PRWEB) February 13, 2005 -- Cub Scout Pack 282 of Gilbert, AZ once again demonstrated its commitment to Doing a Good Deed" by serving fresh baked cookies and drinks to the army of volunteers that have been working to remodel the Okvath family home on ABC TVs Extreme Makeover -- Home Edition project in Gilbert.
Despite rain and the fury of activity at the house, the boys and their leaders were greeted with cheers and applause from the volunteers as they delivered their treats with smiles and pride.
According to Den Leader William Meek, whose wife Adalesa arranged the opportunity, We wanted Pack 282 to participate and demonstrate what outstanding citizens they are by providing a service to the volunteers who are working on the house. Isn't that what scouting is all about - being good citizens and helping others"?
Cub Scout Brendon Tucker said, We wanted to help the workers who are helping the little girl and her family. And, I got to see Ty"!
Last December Pack 282 collected over 1500 food items during their annual food drive for local food pantry Open Arms Care Center" which serves needy families in Gilbert.
