Courses Set for March 8 Â? May 10, 2005 by Atlanta-based MVA Scientific Consultants

MVA Scientific Consultants is pleased to announce the presentation of it’s new course entitled: “Advanced Asbestos Analysis by Transmission Electron Microscopy ” which will be offered for 3 days, March 8 – May 10, 2005. The course is the follow up to the Firm’s course Fundamentals of Asbestos Analysis by TEM”.

The Advanced Asbestos Analysis by TEM ” course will feature lectures on asbestos crystallography and quantitative elemental composition and hands-on use of a double tilt holder and indexing zone axis patterns. Topics include characterization of amphiboles including those associated with vermiculite, talc and various ores and quarried rock.

Instructors for the course will be James R. Millette, Ph.D., Executive Director, MVA Scientific Consultants and Robert Stevenson, Ph.D. of the Materials and Chemistry Laboratory, Inc., Oakridge, TN. All lab fees, course resource materials and lunches are included in the cost of the course.
