MT. WASHINGTON VALLEY, NH (PRWEB) February 16, 2005 -- History was made January 18th, 2005 with the sale of a luxury home in the Pear Mountain subdivision in Glen, New Hampshire. The 6,800-square-foot home, located just a few minutes north of North Conway, sold for a record $1.85 million. While the North Conway, NH area has long been a popular vacation resort with numerous second homes, this was the largest residential sale to date in the Mt. Washington Valley.

The home is a unique mountain retreat, offering 360-degree views of Mt. Washington, Cranmore, Attitash, the Moat Mountains and Saco River. The home features a luxurious master suite, gourmet kitchen, a warm and inviting library with custom cherry built-ins, a fireplace and that fabulous view, all situated on 5 acres of scenic beauty.

Badger Realty Brokers Record Sale
The home, built by Harold Gilmore of Gilmore & Sons, was listed by Diane McGregor of Badger Realty. Antonella Bliss of ReMax Presidential represented the buyers and Berlin City Bank provided the financing.

The builders, Harold and Cindi Gilmore, have developed many properties in the Mt. Washington Valley, including homes at Pear Mountain, Ellis Ridge and the Ledges at Birch Bend. In doing so, they have earned a reputation for delivering exceptional quality, with great attention paid to workmanship and service.

The History of Distinctive Homes at Pear Mountain
While this isnt the first home of note to be built on Pear Mountain, it is certainly the most spectacular. Pear Mountain, once known as the Levy estate, was formerly owned by Bill and Esther Levy. The couple founded Yield House in North Conway, a well-known furniture company and early pioneer in mail order sales.

In 1962, the Levys built their dream home, a 3,000-square-foot contemporary, perched on the bluff of Pear Mountain, surrounded by 118 acres of scenic woodlands. In 2002, the Levy estate was sold to Pear Mountain Associates, who sub-divided the property into a 12-lot residential neighborhood designed to maximize the natural beauty and expansive views of this White Mountain locale.

At present, there is one outstanding home on the market at Pear Mountain. Built by JW Mallett Custom Homes, it is a 4,400-square-foot home set on six acres with views to Crawford Notch, including the Saco River. This home is being marketed by Kathleen Sullivan Head of Badger Realtys Jackson, New Hampshire, office.

Badger Realty
Since 1965, Badger Realty has been a leader in residential and commercial real estate in the Mt. Washington Valley, including North Conway, Jackson, Bartlett, Glen, Conway, and neighboring communities in New Hampshires White Mountains and western Maine.
