TieGo (http://www.tiego.com), a pioneering provider of business and consumer mobile email and PIM solutions, today announced the first commercial deployment of its TieGo Mail 2.0 mobile mail solution by Cellcom, Israel's largest mobile operator.
Cellcom has selected TieGo Mail to power wireless access via mass-market and business handsets for its "CellMail" email service offered to Cellcom's business users.
TieGo Mail will initially support CellMail on a series of Nokia handsets including the highly popular Nokia 6100 and the versatile Nokia 6230.
"Cellcom has immediately recognized the potential of providing rich mail service functionality on their most popular line of handsets, targeting 90% of the business sector users", Moshe Buhboot, VP Marketing at TieGo commented. "Users are still choosing their handset primarily by the phone's 'phone functionality' and brand recognition. In order to make mobile mail a success, one needs to aim at supporting the current portfolio of handsets and in particular the most popular ones, rather then expecting users to switch to 'special-purpose' smartphones; and at the same time offer a 'No-Compromise' functionality such as supporting access to corporate mail accounts or unlimited mailbox size handling."
TieGo Mail provides Cellcom with functionality such as instantaneous email delivery; attachment handling for document types including Microsoft Office documents and images, CellMail branded and customized user interface, superior performance and optimizations bringing an effective and affordable mobile mail service.
TieGo is a leading provider of wireless business solutions for handheld devices, based on a mobile messaging platform that is scalable and highly optimized. TieGo's mobile email has been selected by Orange and Cellcom. Platforms developed by the TieGo team have been launched by Verizon Wireless and EarthLink.
