Joanna Switzer, IIDA, ASID, was just appointed Director of the Interior Design Division for Collman & Karsky Architects. Ms. Switzers new responsibilities will include overseeing and coordinating all marketing, production and financial aspects for the Interior Design Division nationally.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) February 18, 2005 -- Joanna Switzer, IIDA, ASID, was just appointed Director of the Interior Design Division for Collman & Karsky Architects.

Ms. Switzers new responsibilities will include overseeing and coordinating all marketing, production and financial aspects for the Interior Design Division nationally.

An expert in her field, Ms. Switzer joined Collman & Karsky in 1998 and has led the interior design services for such high profile and award-winning projects as Intermedia Communications Corporate Headquarters, Tampa, FL; Digex Network Operations Center, Beltsville, MD; Toronto Blue Jays Training Facility, Dunedin, FL; the Dunedin Community Center, Dunedin, FL; and Largo Library, Largo, FL.

Her experience includes interior architecture and design, building code compliance review, conceptual design, furniture/finish/materials specifications, space planning, programming, punch list and quality control. Her professional design experience and responsibilities have included complete programming for determining clients needs to managing installation and project management from beginning to end.

Ms. Switzer graduated from Florida State University Magnum Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. She is actively involved in the American Society of Interior Designers and the International Interior Design Association and recently obtained her LEED accreditation from the Leaders in Energy and Environmental Design -- Green Building Council.

She attributes her success to lots of hard work, attention to detail and not settling for mediocrity. She also feels that what sets her apart is her ability to coordinate effectively with all of the technical building systems to properly develop an interior from the inside out. Her advice to young interior designers is to learn from everyone you meet and not let your ego become an obstacle as a team effort will always result in a better project.
