Left Coast Crime Mystery Convention held in El Paso this year - February 24 - 27, 2005.
(PRWEB) February 19, 2005 -- On February 23, 2005, the Left Coast Crime Mystery Convention at the Camino Real El Paso kicks off with a schedule of pre-conference seminars including speakers Robert S. Levinson, best-selling author, D. P. Lyle, MD, best-selling author, Dick Schwein, FBI, special agent, retired, and Hank Webb, FBI, special agent, retired. The conference itself will run Thursday through Sunday, February 24 -- 27, 2005 and will host Americas best and most promising mystery authors.
Toastmaster Rick Riordan is one of Texas own mystery authors, while Guest of Honor S.J. Rozan hails from New York. Other attendees include Edgar award nominee for Best Novel of 2004 author Rhys Bowen of San Francisco and Dallas author Daniel J. Hale, Agatha award nominee for Best Childrens/Young Adult Mystery of 2004.
There will be a Gala Opening Reception at the El Paso Museum of Art Thursday evening, February 24 at 6 -- 7.30 PM. On Friday evening from 6 -- 8 PM, attendees will enjoy El Conjunto de las Calaveras where authors and fans will gather to sign books and chat with each other. This event includes a cash bar, refreshments, music, and local color and will take place in the ballroom and mezzanine of the Cortez Building, a former hotel lavishly decorated in Spanish Revival style, two short blocks from the Hotel Camino Real.
KDBC TV Sunrise and Noon News shows will feature guest authors on the programs from Monday, February 21 -- Friday, February 25.
