The Marching Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman College to Showcase Their "High Stepping" Style at NASCAR Daytona 500 Pre-Race Show LIVE on FOX
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) February 20, 2005 -- The Marching Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman College will join actress/singer Vanessa Williams, country music superstar Clint Black, Brian Wilson of the legendary Beach Boys and others in the NEXTEL Tribute to America. This pre-race extravaganza will lead up to the Daytona 500 and air LIVE on FOX on Sunday, February 20th at 1:00 pm EST.
The Daytona 500 is NASCARs largest and most prestigious race. The NEXTEL Tribute to America pre-show will be staged on Daytona International Speedways historic five acre tri-oval grass and will pay tribute to the fabric of America. "The heart-pumping pre-race revelry of the Daytona 500 is a one-of-a-kind experience and both the race fans in attendance and the live television audience watching on FOX will not want to miss this sensational, world-class extravaganza," said Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig.
Famous for their superb sound, precise formations and high energy dance routines, the Marching Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman College continue to set a new standard for collegiate marching bands. The Marching Wildcats participation in the NEXTEL Tribute to America will mark their second appearance on national television in a two week period. On February 4th, 2005, the Marching Wildcats appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show Super Bowl edition on NBC.

The Marching Wildcats appeared in the Twentieth Century Fox cult smash Drum Line" and will make a cameo appearance in the 2006 EA Sports NCAA Football Game. Bethune-Cookman is a comprehensive college, which offers degrees in liberal arts as well as professional fields such as business, education and nursing. The College has a diverse international student population of more than 2,900 and celebrated its 100th year of founding on October 4, 2004.
