Service Will Launch on March 1 at the Search Engine Strategies Conference

Search Engine Optimization, Inc., today announced the upcoming launch of Engine Tracker, a first-in-class hosted service that continually monitors 18 key criteria used to rank the websites of the customer’s choice. The service enables SEO specialists, marketing directors, webmasters and corporate executives to see the major factors contributing to their website rankings as well as those of competitors aggregated in one spot, track those values over time, and instantly identify significant changes in any of the criteria to aid their online marketing initiatives.

Criteria examined include inbound links to eight different engines, inclusions in the four major directories, Google’s page rank, Alexa’s traffic ratings, and the number of pages indexed in Google, Yahoo and MSN. The service also allows subscribers to create customized email alerts informing them of changes that meet user-defined thresholds (for example, if Google links fall from 22,000 to 20,000), and it includes a blog offering SEO, Inc.’s expert interpretations of updates and other changes to the major search engines.

How it Works

Engine Tracker allows users to monitor any number of URLs. Every seven days, the service automatically gathers information on the 18 primary criteria used in the formulas that determine those sites’ search engine rankings. That information as well as any data collected in live user checks is then saved in a database and incorporated into charts and grid-type dashboards that are automatically generated by the service for trend analysis.

Charts can be customized to display the data that is most important to that user; configured to provide at-a-glance comparison of subscribers’ and competitors’ ranking values; and printed and/or saved as an image for insertion into other reports. Dashboards utilize up and down arrows that instantly convey changes in ranking values; mouseovers that reveal the raw data behind those changes; and other features for rapid interpretation.

Engine Tracker is available in two packages:

• Engine Tracker Personal Edition ($9.95/month), an entry-level package that tracks one URL and permits three live checks per day.

• Engine Tracker Professional Edition ($29.95/month), which tracks up to 10 URLs and permits five live checks per day. Add-on blocks of 10 extra URLs and five additional live checks per day can be purchased for $24.95 per month.
