Wheeled Luggage Return Program to Benefit Homeless, Abused Women and Business and Leisure Travelers

Adventure travel gear and luggage manufacturer Eagle Creek has introduced a new, national wheeled luggage public collection program that will directly benefit those who are in homeless and/or domestic violence situations. During the month of March 2005, consumers may turn in any wheeled luggage piece at participating outdoor and travel retailers throughout the country, which will then received by homeless and womens shelters in the respective retailers local communities.

(PRWEB) February 25, 2005 -- Nearly 800,000 people are homeless on any given night in the United States, while more than 50 percent of all homeless women and children are fleeing domestic violence situations. There are 1,500 shelters for battered women in the United States. There are 3,800 animal shelters.

In response, adventure travel gear and luggage manufacturer Eagle Creek has introduced a new, national wheeled luggage public collection program that will directly benefit those who are in homeless and/or domestic violence situations. During the month of March 2005, consumers may turn in any wheeled luggage piece at participating outdoor and travel retailers throughout the country, which will then received by homeless and womens shelters in the respective retailers local communities.

Incentive for consumer participation, in addition to supporting the important work of local shelters, comes in the form of an immediate $25 rebate toward any wheeled Eagle Creek item. To participate, consumers are encouraged to return any clean, empty and usable wheeled luggage to participating retailers throughout the nation between March 1 and March 31. For a listing of participating retailers visit http://www.eaglecreek.com.

Our new luggage return program provides immediate benefits for all involved," said Eagle Creek CEO and Founder Steve Barker. First and foremost, local shelters and people with the greatest need benefit. Such philanthropic marketing efforts also help to build goodwill in local communities, and frankly, helps to generate new retailer and Eagle Creek customers, further enabling us to continue supporting our local communities."
