Pet Service Professionals Celebrate Innovations March 6-12, 2005

Pet parenthood has created more demands. Pet service industries and pet product manufacturers are becoming more innovative to meet those demands. Animal behaviorist and author, Diana L Guerrero comments on Professional Pet Sitters Week March 6-12, 2005.

(PRWEB) February 26, 2005 -- Professional Pet Sitters Week (PPSW) will be celebrated March 6-12, 2005. This international campaign is aimed at educating pet owners about the advantages of in-home pet care, as well as to encourage the public to explore professional pet sitting as a viable and rewarding career opportunity.

Animal behaviorist and author, Diana L. Guerrero served as past president for the Pet Sitters Association of Southern California, ran a pet sitting business dedicated to servicing vacationing pet owners, and wrote several pet sitting columns--including one for Pet Sitters International.

Guerrero said, Professional Pet Sitters Week was introduced by Pet Sitters International (PSI), in 1995. Professional pet sitting is now recognized as an important service industry. The week long celebration serves to recognize the dedication of the pet sitter profession."

Pet Sitters International boasts 6,900 members and estimates that the professional pet-sitting industry services approximately 10 million homes annually. Although Guerrero no longer runs a pet sitting service, she provides animal career counseling and teleseminar courses for pet enthusiasts.

"Pet parenthood is getting more and more sophisticated. More than 62% of U.S. households own some kind of pet and the increase in pet parenthood has created more demands. Service industries and pet product manufacturers are becoming more innovative to meet those demands." Guerrero added.

Guerreros pioneering contributions have also included a book on animal disaster preparedness and another titled, What Animals Can Teach Us about Spirituality." For more information on pet sitting and other animal careers, or other unique pet courses, visit Guerreros website at www.arkanimals.com.
